We’ve been busy to developing hulor.com. What’s that? I’ll describe about it in this blog day by day. And this is the very first one. hulor is a content pick up engine. It picks up right content for you everytime you visit. You’re searching everytime if you need to get something but you know it’s not good enough. I’m not looking for hundreds or thousands of results but just the right content tailored  just for me and it is especially so when I trying to find the current hot topics. One of my job responsibilites is to think up ways to promote hulor.  By promote I mean to get people to talk about and look forward to try it out. One great way of course is the screencast, showing actual usage and it is in production as we speak.  I found a couple of cool ideas when was looking for a simple to use to-do list manager and came across TaskPaper.  For some reason, the link to the site was broken but instead of the standard 404 error page I got one that was like this: How cool is that? Hi I’m Hiro. I think I need a self introduction soon but let me post a cool video from YouTube this time.   There were only products in the video but it was touched me. Because I saw users, customers, fans through the products. It’s a true history the Apple build. Yes we’re just a start-up company but I’m dreaming to make our own history with our users.

Bought potions version 3 for campaign for DISSIDIA FINAL FANTASY launching. http://www.suntory.co.jp/softdrink/potion/index.html I’m a would be FF fan, so just have only played Final Fantasy IV, V, VI, VII(AC/DC), VIII. But can’t stop to buy these even if i know this is SQUARE ENIX’s trap!! (I bought FF XII on released day, but stopped to play at the first castle gate…) The cans are cool, but its taste is not for 200yen… It tastes like Sprite with some other taste. ummm, not bad, but…. For can’s design. I completely forgot Ultimecia(VIII), so first time to see her illustation, can’t remember who she is. That Butz(IV)…, looks like a girl. It’s too different from my image. not like. CG Cefca(VI) is so cool!...

On this redesign we had to make and take the decision of which platform to use to power the site and blog.  The candidates were WordPress, Moveable Type Open Source Version, Expression Engine and a couple other CMSes/Blogging Platforms. In the end it was down to a choice between WordPress and MT.  And the reason we choose WordPress was that the company behind it is fully committed to Open Source and this fits in with our philosphy of giving back to the community.  It is also being actively worked on, with each release you can see improvements.  And most of the functions we need are covered in the core or with a handful of plugins.
