Yuzu Tea
Yuzu Tea Hot Yuzu Tea One of my favourite hot drinks in winter. It comes in a big jar and looks like marmalade. Yuzu or (Citron) is a citrus fruit, a bit like a cross between a lemon and orange. The other main ingredient is honey. 2-3 tea spoonfuls in a mug, add hot or boiling water and you have a nice healthy caffeine free drink. It is packed with vitamin C and great for when you have a sore throat or cold. I’ve seen infomericals on Japanese TV showing that you can mix it with soda for a cool summer drink or use it like jam on bread or toast. My guess is that it would be far too sweet to use on bread. Skills
We are a small team but even so there’s quite a mix of interests, personalities and even food tastes amongst the members of messaliberty. One reason I joined messaliberty was that I would have an opportunity to learn more things in my chosen fields. Usability, IA, online marketing and so on. Learning by doing is a big part of working at a start-up. I asked the team what skills they are looking to learn and master. Here some of things they mentioned. Har: Ruby on Rails *nix/Server administration AIR apps development English Ice: Ruby on Rails Pragger (Plagger for Ruby) Advanced Emacs Lisp Haskell GIMP/Inkscape Movie editing Self-management English Chapp: English Finance Ruby, RoR, Ruby Shoes Marketing Business administration WordPress &...
One of our office lunches
This is one example of our office lunch. The dish is called “Udon” and is a very popular noodle food in Japan. Udon is very good for me as a chef. Because some days I don’t have a lot of time to spend to cook. This menu can be cooked very easily and quickly. Today, on ice’s recommendation I added “shiso” topping to the menu. At messaliberty, we try to make work as enjoyable and comfortable as possible. Providing office lunch is one way we try to do this. Plus it helps with team communication. At the end, everyone says “gochisosamadeshita” to me, which roughly translates to “Thank you for the meal” I hope it tastes good.
