- Yuzu Tea
- Hot Yuzu Tea
One of my favourite hot drinks in winter. It comes in a big jar and looks like marmalade. Yuzu or (Citron) is a citrus fruit, a bit like a cross between a lemon and orange. The other main ingredient is honey.
2-3 tea spoonfuls in a mug, add hot or boiling water and you have a nice healthy caffeine free drink. It is packed with vitamin C and great for when you have a sore throat or cold. I’ve seen infomericals on Japanese TV showing that you can mix it with soda for a cool summer drink or use it like jam on bread or toast. My guess is that it would be far too sweet to use on bread.
As you might have noticed from the photos, this yuzu tea is from Korea but you can get Japanese Yuzu tea too. This 1kg jar will last me about 2-3 months and only cost 780 yen. A right delicious bargain!
